Tried three separate cables and deleted anything with the word "Apple" from the programmes list in control panel. I've also run a general Registry clean-up CCleaner. Is there maybe something that iTunes leaves behind causing this? This file is not removed with iTunes, or with a registry cleaner. I doubt this would have anything to do with your issue but perhaps you're just curious why your preferences remained after removing iTunes.
