Nigel attempts to use John's testimonial again but this time John does not go with it. After some convincing, Nigel decides to give away free bottles to the crowd before pulling John aside. Nigel says he's trying to run an honest business and that his stuff really works against zombies. He takes John up some stairs and let's him watch a man walk out into the field of zombies.
The man doesn't get very far before getting attacked. The elixir has the opposite effect but Nigel is sure he can cure the plague with more Desert Sage and Violet Snowdrop. John resists being his servant again but Nigel admits the problem and hands over a bottle. John sets out to find the mentioned plants. He's up on his wagon fending off a satisfied customer.
John laughs at him before deciding to help the old man out. John hands over the plants and Nigel retrieves Phosphorus for him. Nigel needs one more thing: some old weapon parts at Riley's Charge. He has a plan and promises he's not wasting John's time. Nigel mounts up and heads out.
Your reward for gathering herbs from all over the tri-state area is the recipe for making Phosphorus Rounds. This is a short-lived buff rather than a new type of ammunition, and turns all of your bullets into incendiaries. Using it will use up one of any kind of Sage and one Violet Snowdrop, and it's very useful for getting one of the Undead Sharpshooter challenges. Dickens's next mission for you is simpler: collect some parts from Nigel's Charge, near Fort Mercer. You don't seem to be able to pick up the parts at all if you're on the second Missing Souls mission, available at Fort Mercer, so you'll have to make two trips if that's the case.
Fortunately, if you have no other pressing business in the area, the map will obligingly label the parts you need with a W icon once you get close. Bring Nigel back the parts and he'll give you the Blunderbuss, a single-shot shotgun that you can reload with zombie parts.
Ten zombie bits makes one Blunderbuss shell; one Blunderbuss shell makes a zombie or two into three yards' worth of blood and dirt. It's very slow to reload and you can't loot a smear of plasma, but at least the ammo's easy to come by. When a player is attempting to complete Survivalist Challenge 10 , Violet Snowdrops can be difficult to find at times because of their small size, but they can be identified throughout the other grasses and plants in the areas they are most commonly found because of their darker colour of greens, not forgetting that your map will also display the plant icon when coming across a plant, this will also help you to find these small plants.
When collecting these plants, it is a good idea to keep the Buffalo Rifle or Semi-auto Shotgun handy and be full on dead eye, in case a Grizzly Bear or a Boar shows up.
